In 1993, three ambitious musicians opened a delivery/carryout-only pizza joint in the empty space of a former biker bar. They called their delicious creations 'Lilly's Pizza' after Benji Shelton's four-legged companion. Hungry fans couldn't get enough and began bringing lawn chairs just to sit outside with Lilly and enjoy her Damn Good Pizza! With time, chairs & tables became standard along with local art, interesting music, and the continuing dynamic of Raleigh history.

The space where Lilly's is located was once a popular biker's bar, The Office Tavern! Upstairs, the 'Cotillion Club', a private dance club, made it's home. Jim Durham, the landlord, says that "when students were practicing the 'Bunny Hop', dust would come a flyin' " through cracks in the wooden floor above.

Other interesting neighbors include the "Chicken Shack" located where the 3rd Place Coffee House is now. Local college students poured in 'by the dozens' to grab a cheap, homecooked meal. Where NOFO is now located was once the famed Piggly Wiggly Grocery Store with its blue collar lunch counter.

Lilly's continues to offer healthy alternatives to the norm, all of which are hand prepared in our restaurant Daily. Our goal is to provide you with the most natural, local, and delicious pizzas imaginable. And, we have a little fun along the way!

You may pick one of our delicious Specialties, or choose to create your own favorite Veggie, Vegan (our dough contains trace amounts of clover honey), or Meat dish. We also offer a large selection of Salads, Snacks, Strombolis, Zones, and Pastas.

Our produce is hand selected daily by local vendors. Most produce and non-produce ingredients are Certified Organic or are Organically Grown; anything else is purely natural. We make our dough daily with Organic Stone-Milled Whole-Wheat Flour. Our homemade Tomato Sauce is prepared with only organic veggies and certified organic vine-ripened tomatoes. All of our Chicken and Beef toppings are cut fresh to order and are completely natural; NO antibiotics, hormones, coloring agents, or preservatives. And in our store, drink pure NC spring water.

If you have any special dietary considerations, (lactose intolerant, diabetic, food allergies, etc..) please discuss your order with our manager.

Lilly's delivers our entire Menu including Beverages starting at 4pm daily. We enjoy delivering large orders during lunch hours given advance notice.

Lilly's is located at 1813 Glenwood Avenue in Raleigh's Five Points. Parking is available along both directions of Glenwood Avenue during business hours (excluding 4-6pm). Additional parking is available along Fairview & White Oak Roads and in the Wachovia Bank lot (only after they close).
